Hughes Public School

On April 11, Light of the World Ballet had the opportunity to perform You Are Special for the elementary students at Hughes Magnet Public School. We were able to perform the ballet three times (each for a different group of children), as well as to teach a physical education class where we got to introduce the children to some basic ballet steps. We had a great time teaching them! They were enthusiastic learners, and they did a great job. I worked with some of the boys, and although they were naturally a little hesitant when they heard the word “ballet,” they seemed to enjoy learning the jumps and things we did moving across the floor. All of the children who watched the performances really seemed to receive the story, and they just ate up all the attention we could give them. Praise the Lord for a message planted! Please continue to pray with us for these precious children, that the story of You Are Special will continue to bear fruit in their lives. The students had all read the book You Are Special by Max Lucado and made puppets of the story characters prior to our coming. I pray that the story and the message they have learned will stick with them for the rest of their lives. Please continue to pray with us that we will be able to take the same kind of program into Ed Smith School! It is such an awesome opportunity to be able to take our ministry into the public schools!
