Sunnyside Adult Home

May 15th The Trainees and Youth Ballet had the privilege of performing at the Sunnyside Adult Home. The Youth Ballet performed From the Rising, Born for This, and Alive. The trainees performed pieces that the Trainee 2’s had choreographed earlier this year. Kristie got to share her testimony and encourage the residents with it. We got to interact and pray with most of them afterwards. They were so sweet! I hope we will visit again! ~ Lydia

Believer's Chapel Canastota

On May 11th, 2014 Light of the World company and trainees had the privilege of performing during a Sunday morning service at Believer’s Chapel Canastota. It was a joy to return and perform for a community that has been extremely supportive of Light of the World Ministries throughout the years. We performed Ana’s Battle and God With Us. The day was a tad bittersweet for me, as it was my last time performing those two pieces with Light of the World(my time as a trainee is drawing to a close and God is calling me to a new place), but what a way to go! We thoroughly enjoyed the interaction with Believer’s Chapel Canastota. My favorite part of the performance was when some of the congregation joined us for an improvisational dance afterwards. We were also able to pray with and for the pastor, his wife, and some of the elders of the church. God definitely met us there, and it was a beautiful time of fellowship as well as an opportunity to minister. Thanks to Believer’s Chapel Canastota for your faithfulness to the Lord and to LWB! ~ Rebecca

Determination Center

On Tuesday May 20, LWB Trainees and Youth Ballet performed at the Determination Center. The Determination Center serves children and adults in Syracuse’s South and Near West neighborhoods by providing a wide variety of programs. While many of its programs service children and adults with disabilities, all are welcome. The Trainees were able to perform three of their own pieces that they themselves had choreographed as part of a choreography assignment: Wonder of the Cross, Something’s Gotta Change, and Hidden Away. The Youth Ballet performed three pieces from their repertoire: From the Rising, Born for This, and Alive. Lydia shared her testimony and we ended by teaching the kids dances steps. The kids were a fun group to work with and they seemed to really enjoy the performance. We hope that they were touched and encouraged from our performance and hope to see them again in the future. ~Kristie

Baldwinsville Community Church

Saturday May 10th, Light of the World Ballet had the wonderful opportunity to perform at Baldwinsville Community Church in Baldwinsville, NY for their Mother's Day Mother-Daughter Tea. We performed "Ana's Battle" which was a great encouragement to the moms and daughters to remind them who they are in Christ. After the ballet, we invited all the little girls to come up and learn some dance steps. It was a lot of fun dancing with them- they were all so sweet! Miss Ashley shared something from the Lord with them, and Alyssa left them with a word of encouragement concerning mother-daughter relationships and how special and important they are. So often in the world today mothers and daughters have accepted that they will go through phases where they won't get along, but that is a lie from the enemy and Jesus has given us the power to stand against that lie! I think that is just so wonderful and exciting to hear! Jesus has overcome and with His help so can we!! We also lead everyone in arm motions to "Healing in His Hands" and enjoyed talking with people afterwards. Thankful for the time we had ministering in Baldwinsville. Blessings, Rachel

Walter Hoving Home

On Thursday, April 24th, Light of the World Ballet had the privilege of performing at the Walter Hoving Home in Garrison, NY. This home is a Teen Challenge Rehabilitation center for more than 70 women. Many of the women came and watched us perform Ana’s Battle and God With Us in their chapel. After the performance, we invited them to come and learn some dance steps with us. We had a great time and they did well! We were also able to pray over each woman and none left the room without a hug from a dancer. We enjoyed every minute of our time with these women, and we are so thankful for the ministry that we received while there. We were fed two delicious meals and made to feel at home from the moment we arrived. May God continue to bless this wonderful place! ~ Rebecca

Believer's Chapel North

Light of the World Ballet had an amazing Easter Sunday morning celebrating the resurrection of our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ! The sun was shining brightly as we traveled north to Mexico, NY. The service at Believer's Chapel North was so powerful. God's presence was so thick and tangible as some of the kids began dancing and waving flags. The pastor shared a great message. It was a beautiful time of worship we had that morning. We performed "God With Us" and a selection from "Unshakable Kingdom". Great things are happening through the ministry of this church and we were so excited to be a part of it!

Prophetic Explosion Rocks Conference

Friday, April 11th Light of the World Ballet joined the team at Prophetic Explosion Rocks Conference here in Syracuse.  The event was held at Believers' Chapel Cicero.  The conference had wonderful speakers Bobby Conner, Dennis Cramer, and others along with powerful worship lead by Jason Upton and his team.  We had the great honor of welcoming the Holy Spirit into the atmosphere before the morning session began.  It was such a sweet time with the Lord as we danced to "Spirit Break Out" proclaiming that phrase by our movement throughout the sanctuary.  We enjoyed being able to sit down, get out our notepads, and absorb what the Lord wanted to share with us as the event continued.  That evening's session, we performed "God With Us" and the LWB Company worshiped through their new set of choreography "Unshakable Kingdom". The conference was so refreshing and it was a true joy to be a part of.  Not only did we get to minister to others, but we were also ministered to in powerful ways.  We are thankful for all of the people who were a part of the conference and a part of bringing it to Syracuse.  What a blessing!  God is moving here and we wait expectantly for all he has planned for us! Blessings, Rachel
