Reflections of a Trainee 2

At the close of my first year as a trainee at LWB, I was contemplating diversity in the context of personalities, and how that correlates to ministry. As one thing leads to another, my mind wandered to the trainee program and how God brings such contrasting individuals into close proximity.
At the beginning all are nearly strangers, each uniquely gifted and designed; each bearing experiences and opinions so greatly different from the next. Some are frighteningly similar, while differences of personality exist that rival the contrast of night and day. Yet, He brings each to this place to do something that demands and develops unity. That is, to dance. And we do. And as we dance, fight, laugh, cry, worship, learn, and minister, a singular tapestry of talent, power, and camaraderie is woven. It is astonishing to observe how the Lord grows each person in ten month's time.
It is my firm belief that things are accomplished each year that hold value beyond the bounds of this world! I will never cease to be amazed at the way the Lord unites comically different individuals to further His Kingdom and encounter His faithfulness. I believe this is the essence of the program: to build relationships upon the foundation of Christ, and to love others out of that place, all while dancing.
