Hughes Public School

On April 11, Light of the World Ballet had the opportunity to perform You Are Special for the elementary students at Hughes Magnet Public School. We were able to perform the ballet three times (each for a different group of children), as well as to teach a physical education class where we got to introduce the children to some basic ballet steps. We had a great time teaching them! They were enthusiastic learners, and they did a great job. I worked with some of the boys, and although they were naturally a little hesitant when they heard the word “ballet,” they seemed to enjoy learning the jumps and things we did moving across the floor. All of the children who watched the performances really seemed to receive the story, and they just ate up all the attention we could give them. Praise the Lord for a message planted! Please continue to pray with us for these precious children, that the story of You Are Special will continue to bear fruit in their lives. The students had all read the book You Are Special by Max Lucado and made puppets of the story characters prior to our coming. I pray that the story and the message they have learned will stick with them for the rest of their lives. Please continue to pray with us that we will be able to take the same kind of program into Ed Smith School! It is such an awesome opportunity to be able to take our ministry into the public schools! Thank you all for your many prayers for us. Your spiritual support is what keeps us going! ~Rebecca

River of Life

We had the very fun opportunity to perform at River of Life on Easter morning. We had heard that it was going to be a beautiful day, so we all put on our dresses in faith that the weather report would be correct...well it ended up being pretty cold and rainy and windy. We changed as soon as we got home ;-) It was fun while it lasted! This performance was unique for us, because we actually opened the doors to let the people in and then danced down the aisle in front of them. I think some of the people may have been a tad surprised, but it was sort of fun to see the looks on their faces. We also led the congregation in "Healing is in His Hands". Everything went very well and everyone seemed to enjoy it. We enjoyed an awesome message by Pastor Danny Thornton. He kept us all laughing while also presenting a powerful message. It was a very fun Easter morning, and I so enjoyed spending it with the people at River of Life. I pray that they were blessed and encouraged! ~Breanne :-)

Calvary Chapel

Wednesday, March 27th we traveled to Exton, Pennsylvania to perform at Calvary Chapel Chester Springs. We had a wonderful drive down and even got to eat Chick-fil-a. There's not one in Syracuse, so we were really excited about that. Our hosts were so gracious, and we very much appreciate all that they do! We joined the church in worship and then performed "Ana's Battle". The performance went very well and had a great response. I think many people were encouraged through the message presented through the ballet. It is always fun performing "Ana's Battle". After we danced, we went upstairs to the kids' room where I shared my testimony with them. Miss Ashley talked to the kids about missions and showed them the video from the LWB Company's trip to Burma over Christmas break. We divided the kids into groups, got to know them a little bit, and had the privilege of praying for them. Then we danced and jumped around the room to "All My Fountains". We had so much fun and the room was filled with smiles. It was a wonderful time of fellowship and ministry. Our hosts took us to dinner and the next day we drove back to Syracuse. Thankful for a wonderful time there and safe travels. God is so good! Blessings ~ Rachel

River of Life Convoy of Hope Outreach

On Friday, March 29th we performed The Crown for River of Life Church. We were part of Convoy of Hope where they also gave out 400 bags of groceries to those in need. We were dancing before the groceries were given out as a way to share the Gospel message with some of the poorest population in Syracuse. We had to modify some things as the space was a little different. We danced partly on the stage and partly below it and didn't use the floor so we were directly on carpet. We got some laughs from the audience which was encouraging. The pastor said they were a tough crowd but we kept them engaged. He was pleased with the performance. ~Krystalan
