October 2-3 LWB Company
and Trainees attended and performed at Christian Dance Fellowship Retreat at
Shiloh Retreat Center in Eaton, NY. It was our first performance of the new
semester!
The weekend was
powerful, encouraging, inspiring, and full of many sweet times of worship, proclamation,
intersession, and fellowship.
On Friday evening, LWB
company performed their story ballet The Crown, Trainees performed their new
piece that first debuted at the Spring Production, Before His Throne, and both
Company and Trainees performed a bold piece called Song of the Ages (Kadosh).
These are all very powerful pieces of LWB repertoire. The Crown centers on the
Gospel and the truth that we receive salvation not based upon our own works,
but only based on the Grace of God and the redemptive work of Jesus Christ.
Before His Throne seeks to capture the experience that we will receive in
Heaven of beholding God seated on His throne in all of His holiness and
responding in complete humility and worship. Song of the Ages is a proclamation
of the power of God who is the God of Angel Armies and who always fights for
His people.
LWB also had the privilege
of watching other retreat attenders perform their own dance pieces and even a
couple of mime performances. It was very special to join with fellow believers
who share in LWB's passion to bring honor to and celebrate Our Great God
through dance. As mentioned before, the retreat was not only made up of
performances, but also sessions for intercessory prayer and spontaneous
worship. We explored worship and intersession through modern dance, sword
drill/warfare, Israeli folkdance, tambourine, the Israeli shofar, and
banners/flags. How very special to be able to bring prayers and praise unto God
through all the various instruments He has provided.
One of the greatest
takeaways from the retreat for me personally was being able to take time to
consecrate this new year unto the Lord. I believe that God used this retreat to
really build us up and equip us for the great plans He has in store for this
year (school year). LWB is so thankful for each person who attended and added
to the blessing and especially thankful to God for the amazing opportunity to
know Him and draw nearer to Him this weekend.
Blessings,
Abby (Trainee II)
Psalm 149:3 "Let
them praise His name in the dance: let them sing praises unto him with the
timbrel and the harp."
1 Chronicles 15:28
"Thus all Israel brought up the ark of the covenant of the LORD with
shouting, and with the sound of the horn, with trumpets, with loud sounding cymbals,
with harps and lyres."
