LEAH Homeschool Convention

On June 5th and 6th the company and trainees were at the LEAH homeschool convention in Rochester. We had a booth in the vendor hall, and performed Ana's Battle on Friday evening. It was so exciting for us to be there, since we each have some homeschooling in our background. This was my last performance with just company and trainees, but I couldn't have asked for a better performance to end with! It was great to be able to interact with the people who stopped by the booth and get to encourage them. I pray that God blesses each of those families in a mighty way! ~Lydia

Spring Into Love

Sunday, May 17th, LWB Company and Trainees performing with Anastasia's Spotlight Dance at their Spring Into Love Performance in Rochester, NY. LWB performed Follow the North Star and students from Spotlight performed five of their own Christian pieces. It was really a great experience for us to see more young dancers praising God with their dancing. We closed the show with LWB and Anastasia’s dancers worshipping together with our piece Spirit Break Out.  Anastasia Bechtold, Director of Spotlight, is mom to one of our trainees, Crisanna Bechtold. It was very special for us to join Crisanna's home studio and family and be a part of Spring Into Love.  --Abby

Seneca Hill Adult Home

On May 15, Light of the World Ballet had the special opportunity to perform at Seneca Hill adult home. We performed Follow the North Star, a parable about freedom depicting the life and mission of Harriet Tubman.  After the performance, it was such a great time interacting with the residents; they had very joyful spirits and were so fun to talk to. We're so thankful for the chance we had to spend time with these precious senior adults, hear their stories, and hopefully minister the love of God! -Jamie

Hughes Magnet

On Friday, May 8th, LWB Company and Trainees had the opportunity to perform "Follow the North Star" twice at Hughes Magnet Public School. The first performance took place on a stage near the cafeteria, and the second was for a gym class for one of the grades. We were blessed to discover that one of the staff members had been preparing the children for the ballet by giving them all sorts of background information about Harriet Tubman. It was sweet to hear laughter from the kids during certain points in the ballet and to hear them whispering about how they wanted to "defend" the slaves. They clapped along to the songs and were such a fun audience. All in all, it was a wonderful experience! ~Hannah Wallace

Calvary Chapel

The company and trainees had the privilege of performing at Calvary Chapel for the women's luncheon. We performed Ana's Battle and Miss Ashley gave a very encouraging message after the performance about leaving a legacy and how we can be courageous women through God. The church was very welcoming and everyone was so sweet. I hope to see all of those wonderful ladies again.

Central Park Rehab

Thursday, April 30th, Light of the World Trainees and Youth Ballet performed at the Central Park Rehab center. We performed several pieces choreographed by members of the Trainee Program and Youth Ballet, as well as some pieces from our repertoire. Hannah Robinson and Hannah Wallace each shared a testimony of how Christ has changed their lives. It was such a blessing to meet the people and Staff of Central Park Rehab and pray with them after the performance. It was wonderful to see the Lord fill the place with His joy! To God be the Glory! ~Anna

PACE CNY

This Tuesday, the trainees and youth ballet were so privileged to dance and meet with the
wonderful people at PACE CNY adult care facility. Both trainees and youth ballet performed
multiple pieces from their repertoire, a few of the pieces were choreographed by the dancers
themselves. It was touching to meet with those who watched afterwards and be able to hear
their stories and share some times of laughter and prayer. So wonderful to see God move and
bring some joy to such beautiful people!
