Transformation Syracuse

May 14, 2016
The Company had the privilege to participate in a Transformation Syracuse event hosted at Faith Chapel. Aaron Nesbit was the guest speaker at the meeting. We performed 'Build Your Kingdom Here' to finish off the worship time. We joined with believers gathered from many different churches in the area to worship and honer the King of Kings! It was an honor to be a part of the event and to be able to encourage and bless those in attendance.

Ed Smith Elementary

LWB company and trainees, plus guest artists Skip Mura and Jay Cole, performed You Are Special at Ed Smith Elementary on Friday, May 6th. The students were very engaged as we presented the short story ballet, proclaiming the message that each one of them really is unique and loved by their Creator. After the performance we had the opportunity to teach a second grade gym class. Miss Ashley led the class in speaking the fruit of the Spirit over themselves as they learned basic ballet steps and movements. We enjoyed getting to spend some time with these precious kids and hope to dance at the school again in the future! -Caitlyn

EFC Newport, RI Church-Sunday Performance

On Sunday, May 1st, LWB company and trainees had the fantastic opportunity to perform at the Jane Pickens Theater in Rhode Island. The theater was beautiful! We had so much fun exploring, taking pictures, and learning interesting facts about it, such as the fact that it used to be a church a long time ago. LWB performed Living Hope and Spirit Break Out for the audience, many of whom were military families. The performance was wonderful and was one of my personal favorite performances as a trainee with LWB. We were able to visit with the people afterward as well as visit the church that many of them call home, and we definitely felt God moving the whole day! It was a unique privilege to experience a bit of the culture of Rhode Island and the lovely people there all wrapped up into one. We're looking forward to our next visit! ~Hannah W.

EFC Newport, RI Church-Saturday Performance

LWB Company and a few trainees had the great opportunity to travel to a beautiful portion of Rhode Island. Not only did we get to partner with wonderful churches and the caring and kind people there, but those people made sure we were able to take in a few of Rhode Island's beautiful sights. Following a performance in Pennsylvania, the Company met a few of the trainees in Rhode Island to perform at Rogers High School with a fantastic facility and even better staff. Performing The Crown as well as some other pieces, it was such a pleasure to see such a positive reaction from those in attendance when having the opportunity to speak with many in the audience following the performance. I had the opportunity to share my testimony and hear of people impacted by it, but I was also able to be so filled up with God when speaking to those present who were so on fire for the Lord. It was such an amazing experience and partnership of which I was blessed to be a part of. ~Hannah R.

Oswego LEAH Homeschool Co-op

April 26th LWB Company and trainees got an opportunity to perform for Leah Homeschool co-op in Oswego! We performed our tour version of Living Hope. I thought this was a really neat opportunity especially because all of us, Company and Trainees were homeschooled. Our prayer for this performance was that God would really use it to inspire the kids and adults and instill in them a sense of purpose through Jesus Christ. After we danced, we were able to teach the kids some ballet positions and dance moves. They were very interactive and talented! To God be the Glory! ~Anna

Destiny USA

LWB company and trainees performed at Destiny USA for a special Spring Outreach Show on Saturday, April 23rd. This was our first time performing at Destiny outside of our annual Christmas Outreach and we really enjoyed being there. We performed many of our new trainee choreographed pieces along with some of our classic repertoire. One aspect of the show that we all loved was that many of the pieces done were heavily Gospel centered and all of the pieces came from a place of bold worship in our hearts. It is such a joy and privilege to celebrate the amazing God we serve through dance and to do it in the presence of many who may have not yet encountered Him. We have prayed for and believe that God used our dancing there to bring people closer to their own personal encounter with Him. Our director, Ms. Ashley closed the performance with a declaration that God has a great "Destiny" for the city Syracuse. It is true, the Lord has great plans for our city and we are so glad to be a part of them! --Abby

Syracuse Contemporary Dance Company's "In Concert 2016"

On Friday April 22nd, and Saturday the 23rd, Light of the World Ballet Company performed for Syracuse Contemporary Dance Company's "In Concert 2016" at the On Center. The concert was a collection of pieces with a wide variety of styles from different dance companies and schools, covering everything from ballet and pointe to hip-hop, modern, tap and jazz, and even a fun series of African pieces with live accompaniment! We performed "Build Your Kingdom Here", an upbeat contemporary piece about revival and seeing God's kingdom here on earth. We enjoyed being with local dancers and choreographers! It was a great piece to use to pray for Syracuse and the dance and art community here. ~Cayla

Robinson Memorial Presbyterian Church

On Monday, April 18th the Company and Trainees had the pleasure of performing at Robinson Memorial Presbyterian church. We got to perform “the Crown” for a luncheon event called “Dave’s Cookin.” Many of the elderly couples from the community came together to enjoy the wonderful food and a blessed time of fellowship. One of the trainees, Jamilynn, shared a moving personal testimony of how Jesus set her free from guilt and worrying too much about people pleasing. It was such a privilege to be involved in that uplifting event. It was so nice to feel the joy in the atmosphere and to see all of the beautiful smiles. ~Sophia

Women’s Aglow

Friday April 29th, LWB Company traveled down to Waymart, PA to perform for a women’s retreat called Women’s Aglow.  The retreat was held at Ladore Retreat Center.  Everyone was so welcoming as we came in and set up our props, products and costumes for the performance. We presented The Crown to the group of about twenty women.  After the performance Ashley shared a message with them and had them engage in some movement exercises.  It was nice being able to meet and talk with the women after the program and hear a little about them.  We pray that everyone at the retreat left feeling refreshed, strengthened and encouraged! ~Kristie

Oswego Christian School

Light of the World ballet got to perform Living Hope at Oswego Christian School! This performance was lots of fun and the atmosphere was filled with such joy! We had the privilege of seeing big smiles on many children's faces and also let them learn some dance moves. We loved being able to see Gods joy in each of the teachers and children! ~Crisanna
