Wampsville Jail

This Friday, LWB Company and Trainees were able to make a return trip to the Wampsville Jail to perform. This time, we presented some dances from our Christmas repertoire. Trainee, Anna Fargarson, also had the opportunity to share her personal testimony with the women inmates there. It is always such a treat to be able to go into a place like this and be able to shine a little light. Even just the smallest of connections with the women, or to see a face light up with a smile, counted as such a great blessing to us.  Hannah R.

Lighthouse Church of God

This past Sunday, LWB Company and trainees had the opportunity to dance at Lighthouse Church of God in Mexico, NY. After a special time of worship we performed our Christmas repertoire. The congregation was welcoming and encouraging, responding enthusiastically to each of the pieces we presented. After the service, we had the opportunity to talk to members of the church, and a few of them even helped us pack up the floor! It was amazing to see their servants' hearts as they stayed after the service, working alongside us. The church also provided a delicious lunch before we headed back to Syracuse. Although we went to Mexico with the aim of blessing the people at Lighthouse Church, it was very much a blessing to each of us as well. - Caitlyn

City Jail

Last Friday, Light of the World Ballet Company and Trainees had the privilege of a unique opportunity...we got to perform in the city jail!  We've been going to this jail for a few years now and it's such a blessing how God continues to open the doors! Most people think it's pretty crazy and out of the norm for a bunch of ballerinas to go perform in a jail. But we sever a pretty "out of the norm" kind of God! If we just walked into the jail and ask, "Who wants to listen to us talk about Jesus?" perhaps a few ladies would come, but because we come to perform and put on a show for these ladies they were glad to come. It was awesome to see throughout the course of the performance how even those who seemed a little hard-hearted at first were touched but God's love. We performed some of our Christmas choreography; it was wonderful to be able to use those dances to being joy into a normally rather depressing place. Trainee, Abigail Jenkins, shared a beautiful testimony about forgiveness and I believe God truly used it to impact those ladies! To God be the glory! ~Anna

Faith Heritage Holiday House

On Saturday, November 7th, LWB company members and trainees once again had the wonderful opportunity to perform at the Faith Heritage Holiday House! We performed four pieces, two of which were from our Christmas repertoire, and Caitlyn had the opportunity to share her testimony. Afterwards, several children came up on the stage to learn some ballet steps. It was so fun watching them! Many people shared with me how they were touched. One woman said she was so blessed that she had tears in her eyes. All of this filled my heart! ~Brookie Rossi

Rally for Ray's Kids

Saturday October 31
Rally for Ray's Kids
The Company had the unique opportunity to perform at a fundraiser event with the purpose to raise funds for the continuation particular gyms/community centers for inner city kids in Syracuse. There was a boxing ring set up in the Harley Davidson warehouse dealership and throughout the day there were ongoing boxing matches for kids through adults.  We did 'Alive' and 'God With Us' in between matches in the boxing ring! Unconventional ministry taken to another level! The floor had a good spring to it and even though the space was small we were able to fit into it well. We did both dances back to back with one dance facing one way and then for the other dance we flipped front to the other side of the ring because people were sitting on 3 sides of the ring. There was a good community atmosphere there with young boys to adults competing and lots of family members watching. There was a positive response from the people in the audience and we had the privilege of meeting Ray Rinaldi, the man who runs the centers and is a boxing legend in Syracuse. Although it was a very short performance we pray that what was done will have a lasting effect on the people who were there!
Blessings, Alyssa
