Christian Community Church

On Saturday April 12, we had the privilege of being invited to perform at a community event in Rochester hosted by Christian Community Church.  We performed our ballet The Crown as well as God With Us. For the trainees, it was our first time performing The Crown, and we had a lot of fun with it! I was able to talk with some of the teenagers in the audience afterwards, and they seemed to really enjoy the ballet. It was great to be able to connect with a wonderful community and minister to our neighbors in Rochester! ~ Rebecca

Faith Heritage School

Wednesday April 16th, LWB Company and Trainees performed at Faith Heritage School for the elementary students. Faith Heritage School is a multi-denominational Christian School, providing a college-preparatory education for students in grades Kindergarten through 12. The students were very well behaved as they watched us perform Ana’s Battle for them. You could really sense that they understood the story and were gaining valuable truths from the ballet. Miss Ashley ended by praying a special blessing over the students and the teachers. We are very thankful for Faith Heritage School and the hard work they are putting into their students. We pray that God will continue to bless their school in every area that it operates. ~Kristie

Westcott Community Center

On April 15th, Company and trainees had the privilege of performing at Westcott Community Center. We performed Ana’s Battle for the kids in their after school program. The kids were attentive and really seemed to enjoy the story. Rachel had the privilege of sharing her testimony, and afterwards we got to teach them some basic ballet steps. Many of them had a natural talent for dance, and it was fun to watch them get into it! Miss Ashley finished by encouraging the kids to not listen to lies they might be hearing, and when the staff told us they would be discussing the story with the kids later we were very excited! We pray that God will bless these kids and the staff there. Have a great day! ~Lydia

International Friendship Evangelism

On March 27, we had the privilege of performing at a luncheon for students on the campus of Syracuse University. The luncheon was put on by International Friendship Evangelism, a ministry of International Assembly church in Syracuse. The Company performed our newest ballet, Unshakable Kingdom, the trainees joined for God With Us, and I was able to share my testimony as well. Since my testimony covers the topic of suicide, it was such a great experience to be able to engage the students over a tough subject that many of them may have dealt with. The response was positive, and some of the students came and thanked me for sharing afterwards. We were blessed to be able to stay and eat with everyone as well. Many of the students came from different religious backgrounds, and I understand there were atheists and Muslims in the group. May God grant that a seed of Truth was sown in their hearts! ~ Rebecca

Missio Church

March 28th Company and trainees performed at Missio Church for their children’s program. We did Ana’s Battle, Healing in His hands, and God with Us. After that we had lots of fun interaction with all the children. It was great to be able to encourage and spend time with all the precious kids! It was also wonderful to see the passion that they had for Christ. We pray that this spark continues to grow and that those children become mighty warriors for the Kingdom of God! ~Lydia

Hugh's Magnet School

Wednesday, March 26, Light of the World Ballet and two guests, Skip and Jason, made a fun-filled visit to Hugh's Magnet School located right here in Syracuse. We were so, so excited to be able to come back for the second year in a row! God is awesome! A fun sign was made to welcome us as we entered the halls filled with such sweet kids. We had a blast teaching the little ones dance steps. They had fun running and jumping and turning. Some of them were quite the natural at dancing! After helping them tap into their dance talents, we performed our story ballet, "You Are Special". Ms. Ashley Rollinson choreographed this ballet based off of the book with the same title written by Max Lucado. It is a fun, light-hearted story that communicates a very important and powerful message- that each one of us is special and unique. While waiting for a few more classes to arrive in the gym we had a great time interacting with the students. They loved making up different clapping patterns with Punchinello, one of the characters in the story. During the performance all of the kids were very engaged in everything that was going on. They seemed to really connect with the story as it was being told. As soon as the music stopped after the first performance a handful of kids jumped up and ran and gave "Punchinello" a great big hug. It was priceless to see the kids respond like that! We performed a second time for the remaining classes in the school auditorium. We so enjoyed our time with those students as well! It was so great to get to spread God's love with the students and staff. Thankful that God created each of us to be so unique and dear to Him. Enjoy being yourself today, the very special YOU :) Shine the light of Jesus the way He made you to; no one else can shine it quite like you can! Be blessed~ Rachel

Professional Ballerina Day

On Saturday April 5th, LWB hosted a Professional Ballerina Day event. Young girls ranging from 3-10 years old entered the studio with big smiles and lots of joy as they prepared to experience a day in the life of a professional ballerina. They all started in the big studio and had devotion time. Next they split up into groups and went to various ballerina stations. The girls got to learn all about ballet class, pointe, ballet hair and ballet makeup. After the stations, they gathered in the big studio and we performed for them. The Youth Ballet performed “Alive” and “Born for This”, and the Company and Trainee’s performed Ana’s Battle. Miss Ashley finished by sharing the salvation message and praying a blessing over all the girls. We had such a sweet time with all of the precious girls that came to the event! We hope that the girls were blessed and had a fun time experiencing a day in the life of a professional ballerina. -Kristie
